UWA and the Community
What's so great about UWA's location? Practically everything! Our beautiful campus is located on the western border of Alabama. We're just 30 minutes from Meridian, Mississippi; 50 minutes from Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and 90 minutes from Birmingham, Alabama.
From the south, we're just three hours away from Alabama's magical gulf coast, where white sand beaches and emerald waters invite you to dive in and have a great time. And there's so much more than the beach.
No wonder we think UWA is located in the middle of everything that matters. From exciting cities with all their Southern charm to our hometown of Livingston where 3,000 friends and neighbors make university students and faculty feel right at home, UWA is a small-town school with big possibilities.
Our 600-acre campus is filled with nature trails, a lake for fishing and the kind of natural beauty that just inspires big thinking. Our faculty and staff are warm and welcoming, and it won't be long before everyone at UWA knows your name.
Wander off campus and into Livingston and you'll be greeted with a smile wherever you go. There's a reason people say, "there's something about this place." Because there is.
Size can be a big factor when it's time to choose a college. If being part of a small, nurturing family that's committed to your success is important to you...if you value close relationships with students and faculty...if you want to feel at home while you're away from home, take a good look at UWA. We may be a small university, but we're big on everything that matters.
